Benjamin Garman, M.D. – Medical Director
Dr. Garman received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Purdue University and his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He is a family medicine board-certified physician who completed his residency at Saint Joseph Health System. Previously, Dr. Garman was an Associate Director at the family medicine residency at Saint Joseph Health System, as well as having his own clinic at River Park Family Medicine.
Dr. Garman enjoys spending his free time playing video and board games, as well as participating in winter sports. In October 2018, Dr. Garman married his wife, Dakota, who practices locally as a labor and delivery nurse.
Jennifer Ludwig, M.D. – Physician
Dr. Ludwig is a board-certified family physician who is also board-certified in lifestyle medicine. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1992 and from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1996. She completed her family medicine residency at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend. For many years, she served as an associate director at St. Joseph Family Medicine Residency Program and Director of Continuing Medical Education in addition to caring for patients in her private practice.
Dr. Ludwig has years of experience in primary care, lifestyle medicine and women’s health, and she is passionate about providing health and wellness care to our community. She enjoys an active lifestyle while spending time with her husband and four children.
Toni Medaglia, M.D. – Pediatrician
Dr. Medaglia, who often goes by “Dr. Toni,” is a board-certified pediatrician who graduated from the University of Toledo Medical Center in 1990. She completed her pediatric residency at Lutheran General Children’s Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. Dr. Toni has over 32 years of pediatric experience caring for infants, children and adolescents, including her previous private group practice in northwest Ohio, before joining the Notre Dame Wellness Center staff in 2013.
She is passionate about providing health and wellness care for children of all ages and is very interested in supporting Notre Dame families and providing preventative healthcare services for children of all ages. Outside of office hours, she enjoys spending time with her growing family, pursuing the culinary arts and actively participating and serving in her local Catholic church.
Lisa Roeder, M.D. – Physician
Dr. Lisa Roeder is a board-certified family physician. She graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 2001 and completed her residency at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend. She joined the Notre Dame Wellness Center in 2012 and loves being a part of a team that focuses on wellness by treating the whole person.
Her special interests include international health and travel medicine. Lisa’s husband is on the faculty at Notre Dame, and they have two children. She enjoys spending time with her family, hiking and traveling. She is also very active in serving within the community and her church.
Kevin Kilpatrick, M.D. – Physician
Dr. Kevin Kilpatrick holds a BA in English from the University of Notre Dame. After attending Rush University for his medical degree, he completed his medical training in Cincinnati, specializing in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. His post-training journey took him through various roles in Public Health before he embarked on a career in the Foreign Service as a medical officer, supporting United States embassy employees and their families worldwide.
With five children and the joy of five grandchildren, Dr. Kilpatrick and his wife eagerly anticipate re-settling in South Bend to be closer to family and friends. In his spare time, he plans to reignite his passion for cycling and gardening.
Dr. Kilpatrick is very excited to join the Wellness Center team and looks forward to caring for the Notre Dame community.
Alison Voreis, FNP – Nurse Practitioner
Ali has been board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the ANCC since 2013. She has been working at the Notre Dame Wellness Center since the spring of 2014. Ali’s undergraduate and graduate degrees were obtained from Indiana University. She has worked for both major hospital systems in the area during her practice as a registered nurse. Ali has also served as adjunct faculty at IUSB and Ball State in their Nurse Practitioner programs.
Ali enjoys working with a variety of patients and has a special interest in pediatrics and acute care. When Ali is not working, she is enjoying time with her family, which includes two young children and her husband who works on Notre Dame’s campus as well.
Mary-Kate Oatman, FNP - Nurse Practitioner
Mary-Kate Oatman received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2007 from IUSB and began her nursing career taking care of patients in the Neonatal ICU. A few years into practice, she returned to IUSB, earning a Master of Science in Nursing in 2011 and subsequently became board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Mary-Kate enjoys providing primary healthcare to individuals of all ages. Her foremost objective is to work collaboratively with her patients to achieve their healthcare goals through wellness and management of chronic disease. Mary-Kate lives locally with her family and enjoys gardening and traveling.
Suzanne Holmes, Nurse Practitioner, FNP
Suzanne is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, joining the Notre Dame Wellness Center team in March 2022. Suzanne began her career in Social Work with a Bachelor’s degree from Anderson University. She later returned to school to study nursing, obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University South Bend. Suzanne worked in women’s health and urgent care before returning to school for a Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Indiana University South Bend in 2019.
As a Nurse Practitioner, she has worked in Endocrinology and Family Practice. Additionally, she enjoys the acute care setting and patient education, helping patients understand their role in restoring and maintaining wellness. Suzanne lives with her husband and enjoys spending time with her two grown children and family, bicycling and as much beach time at Lake Michigan as possible.
Brianne Mahone, Nurse Practitioner, FNP
Brianne Mahone is a family nurse practitioner specializing in acute care at the Notre Dame Wellness Center. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing at the Indiana University of South Bend in 2010 and then returned to complete her Master of Nursing in 2019. She has board certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a family nurse practitioner. Her background includes family practice as well as cardiology.
Bobby Rajkumar – Physical Therapist
Bobby graduated with a degree in Physical therapy from the University of Madras, India and has been practicing for more than 35 years. He has been working at the Notre Dame Wellness Center since it opened in 2012. Having worked in a variety of clinical settings and attending multiple courses over the years, he has gained immense knowledge and expertise in treating even the most challenging cases. He adopts a “wholistic” approach to his treatments by combining traditional and holistic treatment techniques to achieve rehab goals.
Bobby believes that though the patients’ complaints may be similar, each person is unique and requires an individualized treatment plan. He focuses on educating his patients on preventing re-injury and helping them make a smooth transition to general fitness activities to facilitate a healthier lifestyle.
When not working, Bobby enjoys photography and spending time with his family.
Katelyn Linden, PT, DPT – Physical Therapist
Katelyn Linden earned her BS in clinical exercise science from Grand Valley State University in 2013. She then moved to Iowa to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from St. Ambrose University in 2015. During her career, Katelyn has focused her practice in outpatient orthopedics and enjoys providing patients with the tools and knowledge to return to the activities and lifestyles that they enjoy.
She has a passion for orthopedic conditions and has focused her education on manual skills and techniques, postural education and myofascial techniques to help better her patients. Katelyn enjoys being outdoors, crocheting and renovating houses with her husband, including two near the Notre Dame Campus.
Andy Findley, Physical Therapist, DPT
Andy graduated in 2009 with a BA in both German and Social Work from Bethel College in North Newton, KS. Following a brief stint working with children and adolescents in social services, he returned to school at the University of Indiana – South Bend to complete the prerequisite coursework to pursue physical therapy. In 2018, Andy earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine School for Health Sciences in Austin, TX.
As a therapist, he enjoys treating with a mix of manual therapy and exercise but also utilizes other treatment tools such as dry needling and blood flow restriction training. While Andy is an avid Irish fan, as a Kansan he bleeds Jayhawk Crimson and Blue. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, smoking meat, weight lifting, making music and playing disc golf.
Julie Bennington, PsyD, HSPP – Director of Emotional Wellbeing
Dr. Julie received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ashford University. She received her Master of Arts and Doctor of Psychology degrees from The Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Chicago. Dr. Julie completed her doctoral clinical psychology internship and post-doctoral clinical psychology fellowship at Palos Behavioral Health Professional (now named MiraCare Neurobehavioral Health) in Palos Heights, Illinois. While at MiraCare, she was the Director of Therapeutic Programming for the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). During her tenure, Dr. Julie designed and implemented the psychologist-driven PHP programming.
She has experience in private practice, therapeutic day schools, psychosocial rehabilitation programs, adolescent/child partial hospitalization and inpatient hospitalization. Dr. Julie uses an integrative therapeutic model to meet her patients where they are and considers all aspects of an individual’s uniqueness in the therapy setting.
Dr. Julie enjoys spending time with her adult children and her grandchildren. She enjoys reading, resistance training, listening to music, photography and being in nature.
Carol Ryan, LCAC, LPC – Behavioral Health Therapist
Carol received her Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Bethel College and her Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. She is currently licensed in Michigan and Indiana.
Carol’s diverse background started with substance abuse counseling working in inpatient and outpatient settings. Later, her focus broadened to include trauma, human trafficking, and childhood exploitation when working with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Since 2003, she has continued to support their family advocacy program.
Working directly with traumatized individuals revealed the shortcomings of traditional talk-therapy approaches for trauma treatment. Therefore, Carol became certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and other modalities including Somatic Yoga, Polyvagal Theory, Seva Stress Release Acupressure, and Internal Family Systems. Carol is excited to offer a trauma informed approach to members.
Morgan Salazar, MSW, LCSW – Behavioral Health Therapist
Morgan received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from Purdue University. She received her Master’s in Social Work from Indiana University Purdue University (IUPUI). Morgan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Indiana and Kentucky, with her telehealth license in Florida. After Morgan graduated from Purdue University, she worked in the field of child welfare for 6 years where she learned she had a passion and talent for talking with people on a deeper level. Morgan worked completed her practicum experiences at Sycamore Springs Behavioral Health Hospital and Franciscan Hospital. Morgan continued to work at Sycamore Springs after completing her Master’s degree where she worked in many roles as a child & adolescent therapist, inpatient therapist, and adult outpatient therapist facilitating telehealth health groups for PHP and IOP programs. In addition to working as a Behavioral Health therapist for the Notre Dame Wellness Center, Morgan owns and operates a private practice utilizing various therapeutic models including but not limited to CBT and DBT. Morgan stives to get to know each of her patients to help them create and follow the best path of success. Morgan enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, baking, and Purdue basketball.
Maureen Jamieson – Health Risk Disease Management Nurse
Maureen Jamieson is a registered nurse and registered dietitian. She did her undergraduate work at Ball State University and graduate work at Andrews University. Her background includes oncology, cardiac intermediate care, wellness and nutrition counseling.
When Maureen is not in the office, she is home with her husband and three children. She enjoys spending time with family and friends. Maureen’s particular interest is to help people achieve wellness: body, mind, heart and spirit.
Martha Vanderheyden – Wellness Coach
Martha holds her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Health Promotion and Wellness from Western Michigan University. She is certified as a Health and Wellness Coach, Lifestyle Medicine Coach as well as an Intrinsic Coach. She is currently working on a Mental Fitness Coach certification. Martha enjoys working with others to find purpose, balance and fulfillment.
Ellise Moore, CCHW – Wellness Coach
Ellise earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the Indiana University of South Bend. She is presently enrolled in Indiana University’s graduate program, where she is working toward a Master of Social Work degree with an emphasis on substance addiction and community mental health. She has over a decade of experience in assisting patients in setting goals and obtaining resources to manage their chronic conditions, as she is a certified community health worker/lifestyle coach.
Ellise has exhibited exceptional proficiency in community outreach, advocacy, and case management. To address the distinctive challenges encountered by vulnerable populations, she has worked in conjunction with a variety of organizations and agencies to create and execute programs. Additionally, she has completed training in Trauma Informed Care and Mental Health First Aid. She is presently in the process of achieving certification as a Wellness Coach from the national board.
A deep dedication to the cultivation of positive change in the communities and individuals she supports drives Ellise. She is enthusiastic about assisting individuals in establishing healthy lifestyle practices and identifying opportunities for self-care in their lives.
Ellise is presently engaged in a partnership with the Community Health Network and the Indiana University School of Social Work, as she has been accepted into the Behavior Health Academy hosted by Oaklawn. Ellise and her son reside in the community in which she works. She receives satisfaction from reading, arts and crafts, nature walks and spending time with family and friends.
Susie Gray Holden - Wellness Coach
Susie is a board-certified health and wellness coach and a mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) teacher. She is passionate about helping people find more ease in their lives and creating healthy lifestyle habits. Susie partners with participants to improve their relationship with stress, time, healthy eating, self-compassion, mindful movement, sleep and reconnection to nature.
Susie most recently taught Mindfulness-Based Resiliency Training to veterans suffering from PTSD at the Road Home Program at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Susie lives in southwest Michigan with her husband and enjoys hiking, biking and cooking for family and friends.
